He’s posing as a web developer, will ask for full payment but in the end won’t do the job.

I was looking for a web developer for our site and I found this Carlo Pia thru an ad in the internet.
At first i was a bit hesitant on getting him because he’s from Iloilo which is far from Manila where I am based. But he was able to convince me through nice words- that he’s a family man with wife and kids. With this i somehow believed that he is a trustful person.

We agreed with the project requirements and the rate. He estimated the work to be done in 3 days.
I made the 50% deposit as agreed. After a week he contacted me to deposit the remaining 25% so he can pay his internet bills because it got cut off. wanting for him to finish the project asap I did send him the money. after that, still he wasnt able to finish the job. and after another week, contacted me again saying that the site is done. so i checked it and commented on the revisions that is needed which is based on my initial requirements. he said he was going to finish it that night, because he needed the money to pay his web hosting otherwise his clients’ sites will be down. the day after that, I was out for a shoot when he called me that the site is 100% done and was begging me to pay the remaining balance so he can pay his web hosting thru paypal. without any hesitation I did. I thought I was giving the guy a very big favor. the next day when I checked my site, it was still not the expected output we agreed so I called him asking to finish the job. he told me that I have too many revisions and he doesn’t want to finish the job. so i agreed that he will just remove the work he has done and he will be give me a full refund.

After that I had been calling and texting him for two weeks and no word from him and my refund.

So, if you are to hire Mr. Carlo Pia to do any web development I suggest you don’t. Just imagine a web developer who can’t pay his internet bills and web hosting fees, don’t be a victim like me.

MECHANICS:

1. Simply send us an email starting February 14, 2010 at info@blacktieproject using “blackties for free” as the subject. Send us your names, wedding date, time, venue and how you found out about us (multiply, facebook, google, referals, w@w, weddings.ph, kasal.com, etc). Emails sent before February 14, 2010 will not be honored.

2. If your wedding date is available in our schedule, a confirmation message will be sent to you as the chosen lucky couple.

3. The first 5 valid emails that adhere to the terms and conditions will get the free photo service.

4. If you are chosen, we will be setting a meeting for the contract signing.

Terms and Conditions:

1. Wedding date should fall on March-November 2010.  The date chosen should be free from other event commitments previously scheduled by the Blacktieproject team.

2. A reservation fee of Php5,000 will be needed to seal the deal (for both parties’ protection).The full amount shall be refunded on the wedding day itself.

3. A transportation fee will be charged for out of town weddings:

Php 3,000 for Tagaytay, Laguna, Batangas, Bulacan, Cavite

Php 1,000 for Alabang, Antipolo, Rizal

4. Blacktieproject shall be the main photographer for the event but the client can still get back-up services from other photographers if they wish to do so.

5. The client can also avail of Blacktieproject’s other services apart from the free photo services (like albums, prints, video, etc) but standard rates shall apply.

Prenup – Php 7,500

8×10 Wedding album – Php 11,000

8×8 Guestbook album – Php 5,000

Video Coverage – Php 15,000
